Lhasa to Namtso Lake
Located about 250 km from Lhasa along the Qinghai Tibet highway, Namtso Sky Lake lies at an elevation of 4,718 m/15,549 ft. It is the second largest salt water lake in Tibet. It is bordered by the sacred Nyenchen Tanglha snowy peaks.
At Namtso, you can also explore the Tashi Do Hermitage and visit the nearby bird sanctuary that is home to many types of migratory birds between April and November, including rare black-necked crane.
There is a 2-3 hour pilgrimage circuit on the Tashi Do promontory that runs along the shoreline.
